Teak Coffee Tables
Teak coffee tables for lodges
Teak coffee tables boast durability only equalled by that of Kiaat and Mahogany furniture also available from Uniche Creations.
Features of Rhodesian Teak making it suitable for the making of coffee tables
The teak coffee tables in our product range are crafted from the African Rhodesian Teak also referred to as Zambian teak. The teak is much harder than that of Asian teak helping it to withstand the occasional blows such as bumps and cuts better than Asian teak.
We only use Rhodesian Teak derived from harvesting areas where responsible replantation projects are in place. The outstanding strength of the teak makes it one of the preferred choices for lodge furniture since lodge owners don’t want to spend thousands on repairs or refurbishing every few years.
The wood has an above average lifespan and is able to withstand the harsh climate conditions of the African continent extremely well. It is slow drying and at first appears rather light in colour. As it matures the wood becomes darker with the end-result being a very dark brown colour. It is evidently also this characteristic that makes it so popular for the making of teak coffee tables which gain more value over the years. The ambience of royalty is set in any room when Rhodesian Teak is used in the making of the furniture.
Another feature of the wood that makes it especially well suited for indoor tables is its fine grain and even texture making for stunning finishes. Since the wood can also handle humidity it is suitable for terrace tables as well. The humidity levels can go quite high on certain parts of the African continent and if you own a lodge you will appreciate its ability to keep its character no matter what the humidity levels are.
